Crime Prevention Tips of the Day: Another warm-up auto theft in the Foothills; these are so easy for criminals to pull off!  Please help me spread the word to the community about this type of auto theft (leaving keys in vehicle left running and unattended).  How many things in life are 100% preventable?  This type of vehicle theft is!  Lock up, stay with your vehicle when warming it up and you will be vastly reducing your odds of being another statistic.

In an attempt to change habits and build awareness of what is left inside vehicles when they are stolen or burglarized, here’s what was stolen yesterday:  a vehicle title, keys, mail, purse, IDs, construction cones.  I recommend not leaving anything inside the vehicle to tempt an auto thief or burglar.  You will be ‘hardening your target’ and controlling your environment by a simple change of habit.

Stay safe,
