Crime Prevention Tips for Today: We had multiple weapons stolen in burglaries yesterday — a rifle, another unspecified Federal law enforcement firearm and a knife.  I am asking for your help as community leaders to please spread the word about securing property, especially firearms.

Our robbery to an individual on Monday was late at night in a parking lot.  Most people say ‘they came out of nowhere’ when they are robbed or attacked.  Use your awareness skills when exiting a place of business or your vehicle.  Put the cell phone away.  Scan the area and take note if anyone is loitering or appearing to have no legitimate business being there.  Act accordingly to the situation: notify management, ask for an escort, park in well-traveled and well-lit areas, have your keys/key fob in hand and at the ready, don’t load yourself down with multiple packages/bags/parcels so your hands are free.

Have a safe day and please remember to help me spread the word about leaving garage doors open, leaving firearms unsecured in vehicles and anything visible or of value.
