Crime Prevention Tips of the Day:  As things get busier with the holiday season seemingly upon us, you will need to practice your Situational Awareness and scanning skills when in busy parking lots.  Look around the parking lot before you exit your vehicle.  Leave the purse at home and carry a small pouch or container for your IDs, cash, etc. and keep it in a pocket.  Don’t risk ‘hiding’ a purse in a vehicle and parking and walking away will prevent a burglary.  Most auto burglars know to check under seats, in the center console and glove box, and if time and risk is low, to pop the trunk and check for items to steal from the car trunk.  Remember, don’t toss the purse on the front seat and go to the back of car and load parcels; carry just the items you realistically need to complete your errand.  Get used to traveling light; only carrying what you need for the errand and keeping those items in a pocket.  This will greatly reduce the odds of being a victim of auto burglary or a purse-snatching or having a purse stolen from the grocery cart or basket.

Be safe, have a great weekend,
