Crime Prevention Tip of the Day:  We had a burglary via an unsecured doggie door on October 27th in the Foothills Area Command.  These doors for our furry family members are a convenience, but also another door into your home.  A child or skinny person can gain access to your home through these doors.  Doggie doors need the same type of consideration from home owners as a full-size door or garage door.  There are things available on the market that may help if you must use a doggie door such as special chipped collars with sensors that only open the door when the dog is within a certain range, etc.  See what is on the market and fits your lifestyle or consider bolting that doggie door.  Controlling your environment and making choices that fit your life are all a part of crime prevention.  Stay safe everyone,
