Daily Watch Notes: Property Crime in the Foothills on Thursday, October 15, 2015

1 Stolen Vehicle: 13500-block of Skyline NE.

1 Residential Burglary: 600-block of Manor Ct NE.

Crime Prevention Tip of the Day:  Our crime numbers were extremely low for the Area Command yesterday.  I want to remind you about sight lines today:  sight lines are the views from your home to the street and the neighbor’s house to your house.  It is important to review your sight lines:  go outside your house and look across to your home.  Are the views obscured by overgrown landscaping?  If you look at night, how’s your lighting?  Are your fences/gates/walls in good shape and doing the job they were designed to do?  All of this is food for thought for you; make it point this weekend to take a look at your homes from several vantage points and see what is working and what needs fixing.  Remember, I do home security assessments and “Walk the Block with Jill” visits by appointment to point crime prevention recommendations to  home owners.  Every Area Command has a Crime Prevention Specialist who will do this with citizens.  Be safe, have a great weekend,

Jill Garcia, Crime Prevention Specialist / ICPS, APD Foothills Area Command
