New APD Foothills Area Command Neighborhood Watch Group Formed!

Welcome to the 500-block of Meadow Green Court SE to the APD Foothills Area Command group of Neighborhood Watches.  Thank you to Louise Z. and Walt P. for offering to serve as Block Captains for your group.  We had close to 100% of the homes on the block in attendance at the facilitation meeting tonight.  We now have 13 more families trained on how to serve as extra eyes for our police and how to safely report criminal or suspicious activity and reduce their odds of being victims of criminals.

If you want to form a Neighborhood Watch on your block or re-start one that has faded away, contact Steve Sink at 244-6644.

Stay safe,

Jill Garcia, Crime Prevention Specialist / ICPS, APD – Foothills Area Command

Thanks Jill, for coming by last night and getting our new NW started.

    • You bet; as I said in our talk, I love working with Neighborhood Watch groups. I believe the best things start just neighbor-to-neighbor, at the grass roots level. Remember, the ABCA conference is coming up (free, open to all) on Sat. 10/24 at 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m at the APD Academy at 5412 Second St NW. A great opportunity to meet others and hear some good speakers.
