What you can do to prevent being a victim: Secure your property.  Sadly, our lone residential burglary yesterday was an access through an unlocked front door left unlocked while the victim took the dog for a walk.  We cannot afford to leave our homes or vehicles unlocked.  One of the three stolen vehicles yesterday involved stealing a set of keys that were not locked up/stored out of sight at a commercial establishment.  Victims are continuing to leave wallets and purses with IDs and sets of keys in unlocked vehicles.  We have to spread the word to our community that we can no longer leave any items of value in parked vehicles and we have to do a better job of locking up.
