Crime Prevention Tips based on these cases: Awareness is key — in our robbery of an individual yesterday a male was robbed by a male with a female waiting in a nearby vehicle (driver) in a busy retail parking lot at an ATM. If you need to use an ATM, I recommend you do so inside the business and scan the area and your surroundings. If it doesn’t feel safe, leave. Notify the management. Return another time or with a friend.
Our commercial burglaries were to an apartment complex’s laundry room and two sheds belonging to businesses. Secure commercial property — I can show you how. Call me to book a security assessment of your business at 332-5240.
Of the 2 residential burglaries we had in the Foothills yesterday, one was forced entry and the other was via a doggie door. Secure your property and don’t forget the doggie doors if you have one. There are mechanisms out there that you can install or I recommended closing it off if you no longer use the doggie door.
Zero auto burglaries yesterday! Keep up on the crime prevention and lock up and remove all items of value, which includes garage door openers and vehicle registrations/insurance/personal papers, when you park. If you DETER, DELAY or DENY entry you will greatly reduce your odds of being a victim of crime. Make your vehicle and your home too risky or difficult for a criminal to enter and force them to move on to a weaker target, hopefully out of the Foothills!
Stay safe and have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend.
