Crime prevention tip:  1 of the 4 residential burglaries was an unforced entry (means a door or window was unlocked or someone walked right in), 1 of the 4 was a burglary with entry through a sliding glass window lifted out of the track.  There are numerous ways to prevent lifting or sliding windows out of tracks.  Do a little research and add an additional lock to your windows and sliding glass doors.  Any big-box retailer or hardware store can assist you in selecting what works for your home.  Remember to control your environment by locking up and adding secondary locks to accessible windows and anti-lift/anti-slide mechanisms to sliding glass doors.
