Daily Watch Notes: Property Crime in the Foothills over the Weekend, May 8-10, 2015

0 Robberies to Individuals, Residences (home invasions), or autos (car jackings).

2 Robberies to a Business:  1400-block of Eubank and 5800-block of Eubank NE.

2 Stolen Vehicles: 1600-block of Propps NE, 5500-block of Edwards Drive NE.  A third vehicle was stolen over the weekend, but it was during a residential burglary; that is noted below in the Residential Burglary section.

0 Commercial Burglaries.

6 Residential Burglaries:  200-block of Western Skies SE, 300-block of Western Skies SE, 1100-block of Propps NE, 1900-block of Britt St NE, 100-block of Casa Hermosa Drive NE and 5700-block of Papaya Place NE.

One of our 6 residential burglaries was to a vacant home for sale.  Your police department needs extra eyes on the block to look out for vacant homes and report anyone suspicious to 242-COPS (2677) from a place where you are safe.  Form Neighborhood Watch groups so I can teach you what to watch for and how to report it — Watch Starter call 244-6644 to get a Neighborhood Watch Starter Kit.  I am continuing to see the methods of entry by burglars to homes via bedroom windows in the back of the home and kicking in front doors.   The Foothills Area Command has formed 5 new Neighborhood Watch groups in 2015 so far; that’s one per month average — help us to help you and your neighbors by forming a group on your block.

4 Auto Burglaries:  13100-block of Wenonah SE, 3100-block of Jane NE, 3200-block of Morris, 1000-block of Tramway Blvd NE.

All were are apartment complex parking lots.  3 or 4 burglaries were to unlocked vehicles.  What was stolen in one weekend from unattended vehicles?  $3000 tool set, various sports equipment, a child’s backpack, cash.  Please remove all items of value from unattended vehicles and lock up your vehicles.
