Daily Watch Notes: Property Crime in the Foothills, Thursday, April 23, 2015

Robberies:  1 to an individual (purse-snatching) on 4700-block of Tramway.  Zero car-jackings, home invasions or commercial robberies.

Stolen Vehicles:  0

Commercial Burglary:  0

Residential Burglary:  1 on the 4900-block of Arroyo Chamisa.

Auto Burglary:  1 on the 400-block of Eubank.

A few prevention tips related to the crimes that were committed yesterday:  1) Ladies, please leave the purses at home.  Carry only the items you will need for your errand (dr license, credit/debit card, cash, a cell phone, etc) and keep these close to you, such as in your pocket or in fanny pack). 2) Vacant houses need extra eyes on the block — if you see someone trying to enter a home on your block and you know the home is not occupied, call 242-COPS (2677) from a safe place.  APD will send an officer to do a check.  You know what normal behavior is for your block and your intimate knowledge and reporting suspicious activity helps your neighbors and community. Get a phone list of your neighbors so you can contact each other if something doesn’t seem right. 3) Please help me spread the word about leaving items of value — including items with personal information — in unattended vehicles.  A passport was stolen out a vehicle yesterday that could have been tucked safely away in the victim’s pocket or secured safely at home.

Consider starting a Neighborhood Watch group on your block — call Steve at 244-6644 to get a Starter Kit.
