I read an article on a new method of auto burglary baffling many victims and law enforcement. The article may be of interest to you; here’s where it appeared:
New York Times, Thursday, April 16, 2015 in the “Thursday Styles” section (D) entitled, “Disruptions” by Nick Bilton.
Although I am not endorsing keeping car fobs/keys in the freezer, you may find the article of interest.
Remember, auto burglary is a crime of opportunity. If you lock up, remove all items of value when parking (including garage door openers and papers with personal information), park in a secured garage or in area with good lighting at night and an area with lots of passers-by (potential witnesses) you are already reducing your odds of being a victim and taking control over your property and the environment where you chose to park your vehicle.
