Palm Sunday Parking Lot Crime: We had a report of four vehicles damaged and burglarized on Palm Sunday at one of our Foothills Area Command church parking lots. As places of worship see more visitors, and some may have overflow parking into residential neighborhood streets, we will probably see an uptick in auto burglaries. When leaving the house to go attend services, if you must have items with you, lock them in the trunk before leaving the house. Lock up your vehicle. Leaving nothing in sight and nothing of value inside (this includes personal information, mail, etc.). If you see something suspicious, by all means call it in to the Albuquerque Police Department’s non-emergency number 242-COPS (2677); of course, if life is threatened or a crime is in progress call 911. If your place of worship has a security team, notify a team member that you have called APD and please be available for the officer as a witness.
Another gun was reported stolen this weekend. The gun was in an unlocked vehicle when it was stolen.
