Is Your Shed Locked? Property Crimes Reported in the Foothills Area Command on Tuesday, March 6

Property Crimes Reported in the Foothills Area Command on Tuesday, March 6th:

2 Stolen Vehicles:  12800-block of Lomas Blvd NE (Kid’s Castle), 4200-block of Eubank Blvd NE.

1 Commercial Burglary:  200-block of Dorado Pl SE.

4 Residential Burglaries:  12900-block of Central NE, 1300-block of Muriel St NE, 11400-block of Constitution Ave NE, 1500-block of Canyon Hills Dr NE.

2 Auto Burglaries:  14000-block of Indian School Rd NE, 11200-block of Central NE.  Entries were 1 unforced, 1 unknown at time of research.  Items stolen:  A lunch bag, grocery store tote bags, other items not specified at time of research.  Although the grocery tote bags and a lunch bag were low-dollar value, they were enticing to an auto burglar!  We have to clear out our vehicles of anything visible and lock up – at least one of our two auto burglaries reported yesterday seems to have been completely preventable.  Just taking the few extra seconds to remove items and lock a vehicle can go a long way towards reducing your odds of being a victim.

Is Your Shed Locked?  As we start enjoying our outdoor spaces, perhaps sprucing up yards, I want to remind everyone to lock your sheds.  These are not only targets for burglary, but can be a handy hiding spot for an offender.  Invest in a lock and keep that shed locked!

Have a great day and be safe, Jill Garcia, Crime Prevention Specialist / ICPS, NCPS – APD, Foothills Area Command
