Welcome to Angelina Place NE as the Foothills’ newest Neighborhood Watch group! / Property Crime on Tuesday, October 24th / Spare Change?

Angelina Place NE formed a Neighborhood Watch group last night.  Thanks to Jackie for opening up her home to host the meeting, to Kent for doing the starter kit and stepping forward as Block Captain and to Codi for volunteering as a Co-Captain to help Kent.  Angelina Place NE is near Kennedy Middle School between Tomasita and Claudine, where we don’t have too many active Neighborhood Watch groups and no established Neighborhood Associations, so it’s great to see this group form.  One group project that was discussed last night was a ‘light up the block’ pledge idea for the neighbors to pledge to one another to keep exterior lights on all night because the street is very dark.  These are the kinds of group activities that neighbors can band together to plan and implement when they form Neighborhood Watch groups.  Thanks to everyone who attended the meeting on Angelina Place NE last night.

If you would like to form a Neighborhood Watch group, your first step is to contact APD Senior Crime Prevention Specialist Steve Sink at 244-6644 to get your starter kit.

2 Auto Burglaries:  11800-block of Menaul Blvd NE, 11400-block of Paseo Del Oso NE.  Entries:  No signs of forced entry and not determined at this time.  Items stolen:  One was a failed attempt to steal the vehicle leaving behind damage to the vehicle and the other involved stealing small items and coins left inside the vehicle.

Quick Tip:  Coins left in the vehicle are attracting auto burglars!  To avoid being an auto burglary victim, clear out any items of value and anything that’s visible and lock up.

Have a great day and congratulations again to the Angelina Place NE residents for forming a Neighborhood Watch group last night.
