Red, White and Blue Day coming up / Property crimes over the weekend in the Foothills Area Command / Eyes on Vacant Homes Please!

Stand True for Blue is encouraging those who appreciate our first responders to decorate homes, offices, places of worship, etc. with red, white and blue as a sign of support on Monday, October 30, 2017.  Stand True for Blue is hoping to send a national visual message of gratitude for the men and women who respond to emergencies through red, white and blue decorations and flying the United States flag.

 

Property crimes reported in the Foothills Area Command on Friday/Saturday/Sunday, October 20-21-22, 2017

2 Armed robberies/Commercial:  1600-block of Juan Tabo Blvd NE, 12500-block of Menaul Blvd NE, both on Friday.

7 Stolen vehicles:  Fri:  300-block of Jane Pl NE, 3200-block of Morris St NE.  Saturday:  2900-block of Eubank Blvd NE, 12700-block of Central Ave NE, 500-blockof Tramway Blvd NE, 11200-block of Menaul Blvd NE, 1600-block of Propps St NE.  Sunday:  700-block of Omaha St NE.

1 Commercial Burglary:  Friday:  10700-block of Acoma Rd SE.

9 Residential Burglaries:  Friday:  5300-block of Van Christopher Dr NE, 1700-block of Antonio Dr NE, 500-block of Ida Pl NE, 700-block of Shirley St NE.  Saturday:  2200-block of Saturn Pl NE,1600-block of Propps St NE.  Sunday:  2300-block of Britt St NE, 5700-block of Manzanillo Loop NE,11000-block of Marine Gate Trail NE.

Four of nine reported residential burglaries over the weekend were to vacant homes.  APD needs extra eyes on the block to report any suspicious activity at homes being remodeled, for sale, owners on vacation or who are part-time residents.  What is suspicious activity?  Strangers trying doors, lock boxes, prying, looking into windows, attempting to get over walls or gates or fences at the property, loading up on property from the home, etc.  Just one phone call to 242-COPS (2677) from a safe place with a good description of what is happening will help APD and help you to keep your neighborhood safer!

12 Auto Burglaries:  Friday:  2 vehicles at the same address on the 4700-block of Hilltop Pl NE, 12000-block of Skyline Rd NE, 3100-block of Jane Pl NE, 4600-block of Eubank Blvd NE, 10600-block of La Grange Dr NE.  Saturday:  6600-block of Tennyson NE, 500-block of Tramway Blvd NE, 200-block of Eubank Blvd SE, 10500-block of Lagrima De Oro Rd NE, 3000-block of Eubank Blvd NE, 10600-block of Montgomery Blvd NE.

Entries:  Unlocked vehicles, vehicles with damage left unreparied that allowed burglars easy entries, damaging door locks, breaking windows.   Four of the twelve burglaries were specified as ‘unforced entries” meaning the vehicle was not locked/unsecured.  There were three failed attempts to steal vehicles leaving behind damage to vehicle interiors.

Items left in vehicles that were reported stolen this weekend:  Bank statements and a bag of coins.  A purse and IDs.  Numerous tools and IDs.  A purse and a wallet.
