Summertime, and the livin’ should be easy! / No Web Post Tomorrow / Property Crime reported on Wed. 7/12

Summer is here!  I hope you all are having a great summer.  A few tips to remember:  venting vehicles (leaving the window partially opened) and venting garages (leaving garage door open 10 or so inches) provides easy access to burglars.  Try to remember to secure your vehicles and garages.  Summertime fun includes sporting events, picnics, concerts and enjoying our trails in the Foothills Area Command.  Try to park where you can see you vehicle and make sure you’ve cleared the vehicle of any visible items.  Lock up.  Bring only the essentials for your activity or errand with you and keep those close to you in a pocket, fanny pack, back pack or pouch.

Save the Date:  Foothills Officer/Community Appreciation Day will be Saturday, August 12th from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Manzano Mesa Multi-Generational Center at 501 Elizabeth SE.  If you would like to help as a volunteer contact the APD Foothills Substation front office staff at 332-5240 to sign up.  If you would like to help with a gift card for us to purchase food or beverage please talk to Lieutenant John Gonzales at 332-5240.  We will have fun and food and family activities.

No web site post tomorrow — I’ll be out of the office Friday and back on Monday.
