Going shopping this weekend? Our back pack and school supply drive has started / Property Crime on Thursday

Operation Hope “Making a Difference” sponsoring the Children’s Cancer Fund of New Mexico’s annual back pack and school supply drive has started and will run through August 1st. Please think of picking up some school supplies for the kids who will benefit from the “Making a Difference” donation effort.  Donation boxes are at the six APD Substations and the APD Main Headquarters at 400 Roma Avenue NW. The Foothills Substation can accept donations \at 12800 Lomas Boulevard NE (between Juan Tabo and Tramway) and is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Questions? Here’s what is needed:

Cash or gift cards (contact Patricia Savage directly if donating these items at 924-8396)

Pencils, erasers, pens (black, blue and red), pencil cases/pouches, crayons, color pencils, color markers, water color paints, highlighters, wide-ruled paper, college-ruled paper, spiral notebooks, binders, pocket folders with prongs, index tabs and dividers, safety scissors, rulers, glue, glue sticks, calculators, ruled index cards, combination locks, tissue boxes, paper towels, sanitary wipes, back packs, lunch bags, shoes, socks, underwear.


Property Crime reported in the Foothills Area Command on Thursday, June 15th:

1 Armed Robbery/Commercial:  2500-block of Juan Tabo Blvd NE.

1 Stolen Vehicle:  10200-block of Arvada NE.

3 Residential Burglaries:  11000-block of Deer Lodge Pl SE,14100-block of Nambe SE, 1600-block of Paisano NE.  Entries:  Forced entry using home owner’s hammer to a security door, back doors.  Items stolen:  Cash.

5 Auto Burglaries:  700-block of Monell Dr NE, 1100-block of Turner Dr NE, 10700-block of Lomas Blvd NE, 12500-block of Comanche Rd NE, 6200-block of Carruthers NE.  Entries:  Unknown, smash & grabs (breaking windows to access visible items inside the vehicle).  Items stolen:  Cell phones, credit cards, drivers licenses, IDs, wallets, work bags with landscaping equipment.
