Two more unsecured guns stolen / Property Crimes Reported on Tuesday, 2/14/17

Two more unsecured guns were reported stolen yesterday in the Foothills Area Command; one stolen during a residential burglary and the other stolen during an auto burglary.  Also a hunting knife was reported stolen, left in an unattended vehicle.  If you own a weapon, please take the proper precautions to secure it for the community’s safety.  I have a tally of 6 guns stolen in 14 days in the Foothills Area Command alone and just through reported burglaries; there is no way to know if others are being stolen and not reported to APD for various reasons…

Property Crimes Reported in the Foothills Area Command on Tuesday, 2/14/17

1 Armed Robbery to an Individual:  11100-block of Montgomery Blvd NE.

1 Auto Theft:  1000-block of Tramway Blvd NE.

1 Commercial Burglary: 12000-block of Candelaria Rd NE.

4 Residential Burglaries: 1600-block of Bull Lea Dr SE, 11700-block of Grand Ave NE, 12100-block of Sierra Grande NE, 12000-block of Elvin Place NE.  Entries:  breaking windows, damaging deadbolt, doggie door.  Items stolen:  gun, microwave, stove.

4 Auto Burglaries:  200-block of Eubank Blvd SE, 11600-block of Clifford Ave NE, 5100-block of Noreen NE, 10000-block of Spain Rd NE.  Entries:  no vehicle damage noted at time of my research/can’t determine if forced or unforced entries.  Items stolen:  hunting knife, multiple wallets, multiple IDs, a gun.
