October is National Crime Prevention Month! Here is your daily crime prevention tip — SHRED IT! You should be shredding mail and personal papers that you are ready to discard rather than throwing those papers in the trash. A cross-cut or ‘confetti’ shredder is recommended versus one that shreds and produces strips of paper (these can be taped/glued back together). Protect your identity and personal information by shredding on a regular basis.
Officer Appreciation Day is approaching! The Foothills, North East and South East Area Commands are hosting a combined Officer Appreciation Day on Saturday, October 29th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Foothills Area Command at the Manzano Mesa Multi-Generational Center at 501 Elizabeth SE. There will be food, fun, a magic show and other family activities. Come by and meet the officers, their families and your community members.
