Please welcome the latest rental property partner to the Foothills Area Command Crime Free Multi-Housing Program:
Manzano Mesa Apartment Community at 700 Eubank Blvd SE. The management team completed all three phases of this voluntary partnership program with the Albuquerque Police Department and signs were presented to the community manager last night at the residents/management team Safety Social crime prevention meeting. The process started in April 2016 and now management and residents who attended last night have been trained on how to prevent criminal activity on property, how to serve as eyes and ears for the police, how to safely report criminal or suspicious activity and reduce their odd of being victims of a criminal.
If you own a rental property and would like to start the process for becoming an APD-certified partner in the Crime Free Multi-Housing program, contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or (505) 332-5240.
National Good Neighbor Day: Today is a day to stop for a moment and reflect on being a good neighbor and appreciating good neighbors. If you have any ‘good neighbor’ stories to share, please do so on this web site in the community conversation section. I have great neighbors and we share our contact numbers, watch on each others’ homes when we go out of town, pick up mail for each other when out of town, roll up the trash bins from the curb and one neighbor even pulls weeds for the surrounding homes when he is out gardening. A good neighbor can be such a blessing, and our community is full of good neighbors. Take a moment today to say ‘thanks’ to your good neighbors.
If you would like to extend the ‘good neighbors’ concept to your whole block, think about calling APD Sr. Crime Prevention Specialist Steve Sink at 244-6644 for a Neighborhood Watch Starter Kit to form a Neighborhood Watch. Neighborhood Watch is probably the best way to be a good neighbor.
Property Crime in the Foothills Area Command on Tuesday, September 27th
3 Stolen Vehicles: 1800-block of Shadow Leader SE, 12800-block of Indian School Rd NE, 4000-block of Pamela Pl NE.
4 Auto Burglaries: 11000-block of Briarwood NE, 1800-block of Shirlane Pl NE, 2500-block of La Charles Dr NE, 11300-block of Academy Ridge NE. Not too much information on these four at this point except: a newspaper delivery person called in one case (thanks! they are extra eyes on the block too) and a neighbor called in another one. Two of four were called in and reported to APD by those in the area — that’s being a good neighbor.
Be safe, have a great day and I hope you share National Good Neighbor Day with those in your community.
