Day 26: Garage Door Pledge / VIN Etching and Kids’ Safety Day / Property Crime on Thu: What NOT To Do — EVER!

Day 26 of the 30-Day Garage Door Pledge in the Foothills:  We went one more day in our 30-Day Pledge period without a property crime reported that happened due to leaving a garage door open.  Thanks for the support!  It looks like habits are changing and with the weather getting cooler soon, those garage doors will probably not be left open to ‘vent’ the garage and for yard projects.

VIN Etching and Kids’ Safety Day:  200 Eubank Blvd NE (Home Depot parking lot) on Saturday, September 26th.  The VIN Etching is available from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and the Kids’ Safety Day event is from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

What NOT To Do:  Leave keys in the vehicle and walk away.  We had an auto theft reported yesterday where this happened.  We just cannot do this — lock up your vehicle and take the keys with you when you park and walk away.  Auto theft is a crime of opportunity — remove the opportunity and you will eliminate most of the odds of being a victim.

Property Crime in the Foothills on Thursday, September 22nd:

2 Armed Robberies (Commercial):  12000-block of Menaul Blvd NE, 4700-block of Tramway Blvd NE.

1 Armed Robbery to an Individual:  11000-block of Central NE.

4 Auto Thefts: 13300-block of Canyon View Place NE, 14100-block of Copper NE, 10200-block of Los Arboles NE, 1500-block of Pitt NE.

2 Residential Burglaries:  500-block of Tramway Blvd NE, 11200-block of Campo Del Sol NE.

1 Auto Burglary:  6200-block of Eubank Blvd NE.

Have a great weekend, we are almost at the end of the Foothills 30-Day Garage Door Pledge and almost to National Crime Prevention Month (October) and National Good Neighbor Day (September 27th).  I would love to have your feedback on what makes a good neighbor or your favorite crime prevention tip to share next month!
