Things to be aware of:  Our auto-related property crimes are our biggest issue!  As a citizen, you can help local law enforcement and yourselves by cleaning out your vehicle (not leaving valuables inside the vehicle, not attempting to ‘hide’ purses and wallets inside vehicles, not leaving personal documents inside vehicles), locking up and not leaving windows partially open to ‘vent’ the parked vehicle.  I also want to remind those who have a habit of leaving garage door openers, keys, work IDs and access badges, public safety badges and weapons inside vehicles — these items are being stolen by criminals.  Changing the habit of leaving articles of value and personal documents that provide information on who you are, where you live and where you work is an easy habit to change.  Change that one habit and you will reduce the odds of being a victim of not only an auto burglary, but the ‘snowball effect’ of subsequent crimes that occur when criminals have access to items that reveal where you live, where you work and where you bank, etc.  Now is a good time to clean out the vehicle!

Be safe,
