Coffee with a Cop: Big Success and VIN Etching Coming Up!

Good morning — I have two things to let you know about this morning before I post our Foothills property crimes that occurred on Tuesday, May 10th.  I’ve been on vacation, so you haven’t seen a post from me for a while…it’s good to be back.

Coffee with a Cop yesterday at the APD South West Area Command was successful in raising $1,500 for the family of Ashlynne Mike.  It was noted that one child brought her entire piggy bank to donate to help Ashlynne Mike’s family at the Coffee with a Cop fundraiser.  Thank you to our community.  One thing about Burquenos/New Mexicans is that when one of us is in need, quite often our entire community responds with love and generosity that exceeds expectations.

VIN Etching Coming Up!  Saturday, May 21st at the Balloon Museum from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Law Enforcement Public Safety Day (9201 Balloon Museum Drive NE).  The VIN etching is free, just bring your current vehicle registration.  It only takes a few minutes and is an auto theft prevention method.

I’ll be posting soon on the property crimes that occurred in the Foothills Area Command yesterday and providing some crime prevention tips to help you protect your property.

Stay safe,

Jill Garcia, Crime Prevention Specialist / ICPS, NCPS – APD, Foothills Area Command
