National “Get Happy” Week

Just to take a break from criminal activity reporting, I wanted to have some fun and recognize National Get Happy Week.  We have enough bad news every day coming at us from multiple sources — how about a quick moment to focus on happiness?

I would love to hear back from readers on what gets you happy, brings a smile to your face or a feeling of peace.

For me, it is seeing sunlight glinting off the ocean and the whiff of salt spray, the first hummingbirds of the season at the feeder, the smell of roasting coffee beans and anticipating Major League Baseball’s Opening Day and the bunting, the sense of history and honoring old timers that baseball provides, green grass and a whole new season of hope and excitement ahead that only lasts for 162 games (or more if your team is exceptional!).

Have a great Monday, a great week ahead and a great National Get Happy Week.

I appreciate every subscriber so much, and those of you who volunteer in the community on Neighborhood Watches,  various boards and committees and extend yourself in ways to make your communities safer and more unified.  Thank you for supporting the Crime Prevention programs and your local police department.
