For those of you who have been eagerly awaiting Slow Down Albuquerque signs and stands, I was able to get 10 for the Foothills Area Command this week through persistent pleading. I know — a little sad, but it worked! I want our community to have what they deem is important to quality of life and safety.
I will leave the signs and stands with the Foothills Substation front office staff and they are available on a first-come/first-served basis. Please take only one per person, due to the 10 signs being provided to me are for a community of about 100,000 residents. Signs and stands can be picked-up from Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
In the event that the signs are gone before a reader can get one, there are slow down signs and fold-out signs of children playing that can be purchased at most big-box retail or hardware stores.
If you have Rules & Covenants for your particular community, check with the Board about rules for signage before you post a sign and if you ask, the HOA Board or management company may even offer to purchase the signage on behalf of the community.
