Daily Crime Prevention Tips and Property Crimes on Thursday, March 10th

Crime Prevention Tips of the Day:  I’d like to continue to ask citizens to focus on their vehicles:  what you leave inside a parked vehicle.  Yesterday we had three auto burglaries and the items stolen were stereos, four pair of ladies shoes and body spray.  We cannot afford to leave anything visible or of value inside a parked vehicle — this includes papers and IDs too.

With longer daylight hours, spring break activities, sporting events and kids practicing, using walking and cycling trails and the things we love to do outside when warmer weather comes, we will have to be more cognizant about locking up, checking that vehicle windows are rolled up and that nothing is left visible inside the vehicle and that we carry anything of value with us (reg/insurance, IDs, cash, etc.).  Earlier in the week school books and a back pack were stolen from a parked vehicle.  Teach your family and your teens who drive so they can reduce the odds of being victims of auto burglary.

1 Robbery to an Business: 900-block of Eubank.

1 Residential Burglary: 3300-block of Chelwood Park Blvd NE.

3 Auto Burglaries: 10000-block of Menaul Blvd NE, 12100-block of Haines, 10600-block of Montgomery Parkway.
