Locking up property: This is half the battle! Several of our crimes on Monday and Tuesday were 100% preventable if victims had locked up their homes, vehicles, removed items of value from vehicles when parking and not leaving keys to vehicles inside unattended vehicles. I would like nothing more than to see a drop in these types of cases just through changing habits and securing personal property. I wonder how many more calls our police officers could go to quickly or how they would be freed up to do self-directed patrolling and special projects if they weren’t tied up with responding to so many preventable crime calls. Can you help me by spreading the word about securing property? Can you pledge to make locking up a routine part of your habits and your family’s habits? I think we would see a positive change with a simple change of habit.
