Crime Prevention Tip of the Day & Property Crime in the Foothills on Monday 12/21/15

3 Stolen Vehicles: 1200-block of Muriel, 1000-block of Muriel, 1000-block of Tomasita.

6 Residential Burglaries: 4000-block of Embudito, 11600-block of Atlantic City, 5400-block of Donahoo Court, 6400-block of Elk Horn, 4900-block of Arroyo Chamisa, 10500-block of Guadalajara.

Crime Prevention Tip of the Day:  Going on vacation?  Tell a trusted neighbor on the block so they can keep an eye on your home.  Ask them to pick up your mail and newspapers and check the porch for any unexpected package deliveries or door-hanger advertisements (a give-away that no one is home).  Give that neighbor your contact information in case of any emergencies that may occur while you are away.

Your local APD Substation can also post a request to beat officers to do a Periodic Watch on the address if the officers are in between dispatched calls for service.  The information is posted on our internal APD TV for each shift of officers in the area and these can be done for up to two weeks.  Call the front office at the Foothills Substation if you are in our Area Command (generally east of Eubank to the mountains within the city limits) at 332-5240 and our staff will be happy to take the Periodic Watch request from you and pass it along to our officers.
