Crime Prevention Tip of the Day and Property Crime on Wed. 10/28/15 in the Foothills

1 Stolen Vehicle:  3000-block of Morris, left unattended vehicles with keys inside and was stolen.

2 Residential Burglaries: 2900-block of Muriel, entered with key.  12300-block of Haines NE, left garage door open all night.

1 Auto Burglary: 12800-block of Indian School Rd NE, convertible top slashed to steal bag left inside vehicle.  Attempted to also steal the vehicle but failed.

Crime Prevention Tip of the Day:  How rare is anything in life 100%?  The majority of property crime yesterday was 100% preventable.  We as a community and property owners need to secure our property and control our environment.  Never leave keys inside an unattended vehicle.  Review who has keys to your home and whether they are still worthy of that trust.  Close garage doors (the biggest door to a home).  You would not go to bed with the front door wide open all night; make it a new habit to check and close the garage door.  Unfortunately, once again, a deadly weapon was stolen in the Foothills.  Please secure weapons with responsibility and care for the community and your family.  We are all counting on you.  Be safe.
