Crime Prevention Tips: Neighbors, please watch for people on your block trying to hop fences or get through gates to the backs of homes or people looking into vehicles/trying door handles to the vehicles that are parked outside of garages.  Most auto burglars will move on to a weaker target (an unlocked vehicle) if the vehicle doors are locked and windows rolled up.  Please spread the word about no longer leaving any items of value inside a vehicle when you walk away.  This includes garage door openers, keys to homes or other vehicles, vehicle registrations/insurance/personal papers, wallets, and purses.  These items (and many other items) were all stolen this month during auto burglaries BUT the IDs, credit cards and registrations/insurance or personal papers are used to commit further crime like fraud, forgery and identity theft.  Don’t take that chance!  Change a habit and you will be controlling your environment.
