Please welcome APD Foothills Area Commander Shane Rodgers

August 5, 2015

Dear Neighborhood Association Partners,

I would like to take this time to introduce myself. My name is Shane Rodgers and I am the new Area Commander for the Jeff Russell Memorial Substation, Foothills Area Command. I have been a member of the Albuquerque Police Department for over 22 years and have been recently promoted to Commander. I have served in Field Services as both an officer and a detective. I was a member of the Horse Mounted Unit, the Traffic Unit, the DWI Unit, and most recently was the Lieutenant of Operations Review. I am a lifelong resident of Albuquerque graduating from the Albuquerque Academy. I received a Bachelor’s Of Science in Criminal Justice from Texas Christian University.

My goal as the Foothills Area Commander is to continue our existing partnerships and begin forming new relationships with the members of the community. Our support and commitment to these partnerships will serve as the backbone for reducing crime in this community. I also would like to stress the “service” aspect of our relationships. My goal is to provide the highest most professional service with each community interaction.

I’m very excited and look forward to meeting with you in the future. I can be reached at the Foothills Substation at 332-5240 or by e-mail at srodgers@cabq.gov.
