Crime Prevention Tips: Please don’t leave keys in an unattended vehicle; removing vehicle keys and locking vehicles when you park will go a long way in reducing your odds of auto theft.  Lock doors and windows at home; I am seeing cases where offenders are walking into garages and open doors at homes.  Your family’s safety is paramount – lock up doors and windows.  Consider removing all items of value from your vehicle when you park, including IDs, wallets, purses, credit cards, garage door openers, vehicle registrations and insurance papers.  If stolen, these are commonly used to commit more crimes and further victimize the auto burglary victim through identity theft, other white collar crime, residential burglary and auto theft.
