Crime prevention tips based on these cases: AWARENESS when going through the drive through at a business.  One of our stolen vehicle cases happened while the victim was in the drive through; vehicle, victim’s purse and keys to the office were stolen by a male/female pair.  If it doesn’t feel ‘right’ to you or you see loitering in a parking lot, move on and report it to the business management.  You can always go back another time.  Keep doors locked and windows rolled up and purses safely stowed away when driving.

One of our 3 residential burglaries was due to a garage door open overnight; the other two were via a bedroom window and prying/kicking open the front door.  Please help me out by spreading the word to neighbors and family about the garage doors and how important it is to close it!

The auto burglaries are starting to pop up this week at trail/hiking location parking lots.  Women are stowing purses in the vehicles and taking off on walks/hikes.  Consider a fanny pack instead of a purse.  An offender knows you will be gone and out of sight for quite a length of time and that’s when these burglaries are happening.  Carry your essentials with you and lock up the vehicle.
