Crime Prevention Based on These Cases:  Don’t leave vehicle keys in an unattended vehicle.  Lock up doors and windows at home.  Remove garage door openers from vehicles parked outside garages overnight — these are being stolen and used to gain entry to garages and homes and commit even more criminal activity.  These incidents are happening at night — think of your garage door as the biggest door to your home.  Why leave the ‘key’ (garage door opener) to your home outside unattended for anyone to pick up and use?  If a neighbor is on vacation and you see someone unfamiliar at their home, please call police from a place where you are safe to report it!  Remove ladders — a ladder that was left outside a home was used to gain access to a neighbor’s home to burglarize the home.  Picking up ladders keeps your home and your neighbors’ homes safer.

If you want me to visit your home and make security recommendations, call me at 332-5240 to set up an appointment.  I’ll also do a “Walk the Block with Jill” on your block and point our good crime prevention practices using actual illustrations on your block.
