Crime Prevention Tip:  Lock up your vehicle and remove all items of value when you park.  I am seeing so many stolen vehicles and residential burglaries occurring here in the Foothills that originated with an auto burglary and stealing the garage door opener left inside the vehicle by the owner.  This is an old habit that no longer works in today’s world.  Change that old habit into a new one by securing your property properly to greatly reduce your odds of being a victim of crime.  You control your environment — take the extra step to secure homes/garages/vehicles and your property.  Law enforcement is mostly reactive; officers respond to calls regarding crimes that have already taken place.  Prevention is everyone’s responsibility — I can teach you.

Contact me at 332-5240 if you want to start a Neighborhood Watch, invite a speaker from our team to your next group meeting, would like a home security assessment or get your rental property into the Crime Free Multi-Housing program.  Our department has many free resources — it’s not all about the ‘bells and whistles’ or spending big bucks — most often, a simple change of habits and awareness is all that is needed.
