Crime Prevention Tips based on these cases:  Lock up your property. You can control your own environment by responsibly securing your property.  Two of our three residential burglaries yesterday were to homes with windows or garages left open.  One burglary was committed while the occupant was sleeping.  Two homes were also broken into yesterday due to leaving garage door openers and house keys in unattended parked vehicles which had been burglarized earlier.  Those items were then used to access the homes and commit auto thefts and residential burglaries (these were counted with the stolen vehicle category for yesterday).  I cannot stress enough the importance of locking your homes and vehicles and removing all items of value from unattended vehicles.

If you would like me to come to your home and conduct a security assessment, call me to book an appointment at 332-5240.  It takes about 45 minutes or an hour and I’ll leave you with a checklist of suggestions.
