Daily Watch Notes: Property Crime in the Foothills on March 4, 2015

Robberies (Commercial, Residential or to an Individual):  0

Stolen Vehicles:  1, on the 12400-block of Montgomery.

Commercial Burglaries:  0

Residential Burglaries:  4: One on the 900-block of Tramway, one on the 12200-block of Phoenix, one on the12800-block of Comanche and one on the 11600-block of Academy.

One of the residential burglary locations also had an auto burglary (same case).  Consider forming a Neighborhood Watch group.  Get a Starter Kit from Steve Sink, APD Crime Prevention Manager, at 244-6644.  These groups are trained in crime prevention and are a big help to our police officers.

Auto Burglaries:  6, one on the 200-block of Western Skies SE, one at the trail head parking at Copper, one on the 9700-block of Candelaria, one at Embudo Hills Park, one on the 9900-block of Osuna, and one on the 11600-block of Academy.

I am seeing vehicles being burglarized at Embudo Hills Park (two in two days) and we had an auto burglary at the trail head at the end of Copper.  When using Open Space, parks, trails remove all items of value from your vehicle.  Try to stay close to your vehicle if at all possible.  With the days about to get longer and weather getting warmer soon, these may increase.  I’ve asked for extra patrols at these locations.

We need your ‘extra eyes’ out there to help your community.  Report anyone trying door handles, appearing to be casing vehicles, etc to 242-COPS from a safe place.  If you see this at a business or apartment complex parking lot, alert the courtesy patrol and management as well as 242-COPS.
